After the last article "How can you create Super Hostile adventure map ?", I decided to explain how you can create an "Adventure map" soo that they can beings accepted on the hypixel server :)
I don't know if any player have created adventure maps before Hypixel but I know is maps is awesome !

In the first time, we'll talk about the scenario, then after the environment and the constructions and finally the system and the redstone.
1. The scenario.
The scenario is often the simplest part in imagined but it is very complicated to link him with the constructions and the environment.
You need something original, a universe where the player like to play this adventure up to the end.
Something who pleases you and which was never made before.
Stay realistic but with a dose of fantasy, a normal universe but which changes because of a single event which returns the more interesting adventure.
If the player finds the interesting adventure, he will want to play it.
Moments of researches, the player does not have to all understand from the beginning, he has to learn things during the history.
For create your scenario there is a very simple recipe :

1- Effects and magic : The player do not can defend itself with simple weapons, he needs to feel powerful, with the commands you can add magic powers to help the player to fight. Obviously, your powers can also serve you to be more cunning and to increase your basic capacities (jumps, running, ...)
2- Weapons and armors : Weapons remain the main way to kill monsters, you will need it and they will have to be powerful gradually.
3- Hero : The player(s) is mainly the hero from the beginning, but your scenario can be made so that you became him by any event (It is a very good idea to develop !).
4- Nasty : In any story, there is a big nasty, the one that you are supposed to fight at the end, obviously he must be very strong. Do not hesitate to show him at the beginning and of the good present him.
5- Lugubrious and ruined environment : Maps adventures of hypixel asks a lugubrious atmosphere so that watches correspond well to the story, the player can imagine in the skin of his character, it is the immersion in the video game :)

I advice you to create a landscape in ruin structures bigger than the player (ex: montains, valleys, big houses, lugubrious trees, ...)
A closed environment which does not reassure the player but especially during the night :p
/!\ Watch out, decorations does not have to lose the player, he must always know towards when to go /!\
It is better than the player goes to a dangerous place which he do not know (ex: unknown island, secret cave, ...)
Do not forget that the adventure is staged, there is always one solutions so that the player can escapes from a situation which is a part of the story.
I have no ideas to add on this matter, to build your own environment which corresponds best to your story :)

The progress of 1.8 and in the coming of 1.9, are very practical and allow a total automation of maps today ! (more informations : http://minecraft-fr.gamepedia.com/1.9)
The use of commands block is very recommended and even compulsory to watch the good running of your adventure map.
I would not quote all the useful commands, they are all usefull :)
You need to use it of the beginning till the end.
They can allow you to create dialogues, quests, monsters, movements, immediate constructions.
Everything is possible with this kind of coding today !!
I'm going to show you an example :
Here is an example of spell, he allows to give an effect.
I'll introduce you the functioning part by part :
1. Create a clock
2. place this command : testfor @a {Inventory:[{Slot:0b,id:"minecraft:iron_axe"}],SelectedItemSlot:0}
This command is going to be tested in the infinity to verify if you have this object in this part of your inventory.
3. Now, with a redstone comparator, join another command block with a /effect for regenaration for exemple.
You can also made more technical system with a right click like armorstand system.
